FAQ

For everyone

What kind of events are there?
The events focus on all areas of the Internet industry and culture. Be sure to check back often! New events are being added all the time.

Why is Digital Days Stockholm different?
It’s not just one event, and it’s not just focused on local organizers. Digital Days Stockholm wants to gather all Internet-related events held in Stockholm between September 27 and 30 this year; the events can be held by companies and organizations from all over the world. Another thing that makes us different is that we make it possible to find events on a variety of Internet-related topics, not just one small niche. We also wanted to make it worthwhile for people from all parts of the globe to visit Stockholm. While it may not always be worth to travel across the world for one single event, being able to go to several events may make it worthwhile. Because of the variety of events, you could even travel with a colleague with a different job role or different interests.

Why Stockholm?
Stockholm is one of the world’s leading information and communication technology (ICT) regions, with more than 20,500 ICT companies operating in the Stockholm area (2008 figure). Stockholmers are also quick to adopt new technological solutions. For example, according to TeliaSonera, Swedes lie 18 months ahead of the rest of the world in mobile data usage. In an article in The Independent, “Why Sweden rules the web,” it says that “Stockholm has emerged as the epicentre of an online revolution.” There are many interesting businesses in Sweden: Spotify, Polar Rose, JAlbum, MySQL, Humany, JayCut, Stardoll, TradeDoubler, EPiServer, MindArk, PriceRunner, Pingdom, Testfreaks, Rebtel and many more. QlikTech and Spotfire were also founded in Sweden.

Why September?
We want to show Stockholm at a time of year when the weather conditions will still be favorable and there will be reasonable access to conference facilities and hotel rooms. September was the best choice.
